There are essentially three types of predictive dialer architectures:
- Software-based predictive dialers
- Hardware-based predictive dialers
- Mixed-based predictive dialers
Software-based Predictive Dialers
A software-based predictive dialer is one that runs on a conventional
computer system. Because it doesn't require costly telephony
components, this option can be quite inexpensive.
Hardware-based Predictive Dialers
A hardware-base predictive dialer is one that requires specialized
telephony components. Although these predictive dialers often provide
feature-rich capabilities that can integrate with
related
technologies such as IVR, they are often more costly.
Mixed-based Predictive Dialers
A mixed-type predictive dialer is one that leverages the unique strengths of both hardware
and software solutions. It makes use of simpler hardware devices
such as voice modems but also uses sophisticated software to apply
predictive dialing algorithms.
